 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. One Dead As Car Rams Into Parked Dump Truck In Awka



It was a tragic evening in Awka, around the Dr Godwin Maduka Foundation axis of new Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, after a Toyota Camry Spider rammed into a dump truck parked beside the expressway, leaving one person dead.

According to bystanders and eyewitnesses, the Toyota Camry driver had lost speed, then ran over a man as it made its way to the parked dump truck.

The victim, a man in his late thirties, simply identified as Ebuka, was said to had alighted from a commercial bus, minutes before the tragedy.

The victim, who was smashed into the drainage on the side of the road died instantly, while the driver of the Toyota Camry who was said to be in critical condition, was rushed to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, same as the body of the deceased.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, alongside other persons were around to help.
