 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. One Dead As Car Rams Into Parked Dump Truck In Awka



It was a tragic evening in Awka, around the Dr Godwin Maduka Foundation axis of new Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, after a Toyota Camry Spider rammed into a dump truck parked beside the expressway, leaving one person dead.

According to bystanders and eyewitnesses, the Toyota Camry driver had lost speed, then ran over a man as it made its way to the parked dump truck.

The victim, a man in his late thirties, simply identified as Ebuka, was said to had alighted from a commercial bus, minutes before the tragedy.

The victim, who was smashed into the drainage on the side of the road died instantly, while the driver of the Toyota Camry who was said to be in critical condition, was rushed to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, same as the body of the deceased.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, alongside other persons were around to help.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
