 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. RICE DEALER BAGS TWO YEARS IMPRISONMENT IN GOMBE. (PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE.



The EFCC, Gombe Zonal Command, on February 15, 2022, secured the conviction of a rice dealer in Gombe State, Ibrahim Yusuf.
He was sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice Doraboh Sakkiam of the Gombe High Court, Gombe, on one count charge of cheating contrary to Section 320 of the Penal Code Law and punishable under Section 322 of same Law.
The convict was alleged to have sometime in October 2020 obtained the aggregate sum of N5,350,000.00 (Five Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) from one Usman Umar Bello by falsely representing to him that the money was payment for the purchase of 520 bags of paddy rice but converted same to his personal use.
He pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
