 2027: BENUE GOVT TELLS APPOINTEES, DECLARE NOW OR STEP ASIDE 17th December, 2025   The Benue State Government has directed all political appointees seeking to contest elective offices to formally declare their intentions and tender their resignation letters. In a statement issued from the Office of the Deputy Governor, the directive follows the surge in political activities and growing expressions of interest in elective positions across the state. According to the notice, affected appointees are required to submit written expressions of interest for their preferred offices, alongside formal resignation letters, to the Office of the Deputy Governor on or before Thursday, December 18, 2025. The submissions will be transmitted to Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia for further consideration and necessary action. The government said the move is aimed at ensuring order, transparency, and focus within the administration as it continues to advance its governance agenda....

Cybercrime: EFCC Collaborates with CBN, BOA, BOI, NEXIM Others to Re-orientate Youth

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is partnering with relevant Stakeholders on how best to redirect the potentials of the youth and expose them to available opportunities for productive living instead of engaging in cybercrime.

The stakeholders are: Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN; Bank of Industry, BOI; Bank of Agriculture, BOA; Nigerian Export Import Bank, NEXIM; National Directorate of Employment, NDE and National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting with the Stakeholders on Tuesday, 2nd March, 2022, at the EFCC headquarters, Spokesperson for the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, said that to kick-start the programme of exposing the youth to available opportunities, a sensitization seminar is being planned for the end of the month.

“The event tagged: “The Clarion Call against Cybercrime: Salvaging the Future of Nigerian Youths,” is part of the economic and financial crimes prevention efforts of the Commission and is expected to increase anti-corruption awareness among a new generation of Nigerians”, he said.

According to him, “the essence of this collaboration is to seek to empower the youth to leverage through partners, opportunities for skills acquisition and entrepreneurship. We must redirect the potentials of the youth targeted at re-orientating the youth and exposing them to opportunities for productive living instead of cybercrime.

“Your agency has been selected to make a presentation on legitimate avenues through which the youth can access support instead of the temptations presented by cybercrime”, he explained.

Among the participants at the inaugural meeting were Oluwaseun Tubi and Hyellamada Goje, BOI; Bala Abdullahi and Odo Patrick, BOA; Mohammed Awami and Umara Gubio NEXIM Bank; Engr. Abba Muktar and Dr. Lawan Ahmed, NITDA while Isa Abdu and Folarin K. Martins represented NDE.
