 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. Governor Wike In Rivers State Made Thousands Of Northerners Jobless – Arewa Forum

The Arewa Consultative Forum has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of being responsible for the thousands of Northerners who are jobless in the state.

The state chairman of the group, Usman Wada told our correspondent that the slaughter market that the governor demolished had sent thousands of Northerners into joblessness.

He said, “over 90 percent of Northern traders were doing business in the slaughter market before Wike came and demolished it.

“Up till now, our brothers have not been able to find other trade or job.

“Majority of the Northern population in the state came because of cattle and goat slaughtering business and that market that Wike demolished was our place of survival.

“As I speak to you. life has not been easy with our people in the state especially those who were trading in that market.”
