Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search. Governor Wike In Rivers State Made Thousands Of Northerners Jobless – Arewa Forum

The Arewa Consultative Forum has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of being responsible for the thousands of Northerners who are jobless in the state.

The state chairman of the group, Usman Wada told our correspondent that the slaughter market that the governor demolished had sent thousands of Northerners into joblessness.

He said, “over 90 percent of Northern traders were doing business in the slaughter market before Wike came and demolished it.

“Up till now, our brothers have not been able to find other trade or job.

“Majority of the Northern population in the state came because of cattle and goat slaughtering business and that market that Wike demolished was our place of survival.

“As I speak to you. life has not been easy with our people in the state especially those who were trading in that market.”
