 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker. REDLINE RAIL: LASG TO DIVERT TRAFFIC AT MURITALA MOHAMMED WAY/YABA AXIS


The Lagos State Government has announced the diversion of traffic on Muritala Mohammed Way in preparation for the First Phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project (Oyingbo to Agbado) from Monday, 7th March to Tuesday, 15th March, 2022.

A release signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, explained that a lane will be barred from vehicular movement for extension of the capacity of the Muritala Mohammed Way from one lane to two lanes. 

According to him, motorists from Western Avenue, inbound Yaba, will be diverted to Empire Road to access Muritala Mohammed Way while those coming from Muritala Mohammed Way inbound Yaba will also be diverted through Empire Road to connect Western Avenue onto their desired destinations.

While informing that the construction will be barricaded for the safety of the citizenry, Oladeinde disclosed that emergency vehicles will be available to tow faulty vehicles along the axis, stressing that signage will also be placed on the access roads to assist LASTMA Officers in managing traffic flow and minimising inconvenience to road users.

The Commissioner also revealed plans for the extension of the Ojuelegba/Tejuosho slip road, which is also scheduled to commence on Monday, 7th March, 2022 for a duration of six months.

Commending motorists for their patience and cooperation, Oladeinde reiterated the State Government’s commitment to the development of transport infrastructure within the metropolis, maintaining that it is vital for the multi-modal transport systems of the present administration.
