 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. RUSSIA/UKRAINE WAR: NIGERIANS EVACUATED BY THE FG ARRIVED NIGERIA THIS MORNING. (PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.


A total of 306 Nigerians evacuated by the Federal Government back home as a result of the hostilities in Ukraine have arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport this morning at 12:35am.

They were brought home onboard Air Peace from Budapest, Hungary where they had crossed over to safety from Ukraine. 

This is the 4th batch of returnees in the on-going evacuation approved by President Muhammadu Buhari. 

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other agencies are presently attending to the returnees. 

While welcoming the returnees on behalf of the Federal Government, Director General of NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed informed them that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved for the evacuation back home to safety and also provided a sum of USD$100 to be given to each of them in aid of their transportation to their various locations. 

The DG NEMA who was represented by the Director Search and Rescue Air Commodore Edward Adedokun further informed the returnees that arrangement has also been made for a night accommodation for them to rest before continuing to their homes. However, those that their relations had come to pick them home were free to go.
