 Abuja High Court orders INEC to deregister ADC, Accord Party, others Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Accord Party, and others from participating in the 2027 general elections over alleged constitutional breaches. Justice Lifu issued the order on Monday, June 15, while delivering judgment in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/2026, and instituted by the Incorporated Trustees of the National Forum of Former Legislators against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and several political parties, including the ADC, Action Alliance, APP, Accord Party, and Zenith Labour Party. The plaintiffs argued that the affected political parties failed to meet constitutional requirements relating to electoral spread and performance. Senator Umeh Holds Annual Scholarship Programme, Disburses Ten Million Naira For Students Under His Scholarship Scheme.




The Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Senator Victor Umeh has paid school fees for students under Victor Umeh Education Foundation to the tune of ten million naira.

The event which took place at Senator Umeh's country home, Aguluzigbo, attracted the Vicar General Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, Reverend Father Anthony Chiegboka, Government House Chaplain, Reverend Father Raphael Onyekwelu, some VUMEF beneficiaries, Stakeholders of the Aguluzigbo and beyond.

Handing over the ten million naira worth of draft to VUMEF Board Chairman, Reverend Father Peter Uzoezie, Senator Umeh noted that he has taken it as a passion to empower the youths for the good of the society.

Noting that the result has been satisfactory and impressive, the Senator recalled that the foundation has produced great scholars in different academic fields.

He challenged the beneficiaries to shone any form of social vice and focus on their education to enable them become the best for themselves and their families.

A First Class, Chemical Engineering Graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Mr Chukwuma Nwanazoba who was a product of VUMEF thanked the benefactor for the opportunity and advised other beneficiaries to be outstanding in all their endeavors as a way of appreciating their benefactor. 

Mr Chinonso Onyeanusi, a student of Federal Polytechnic Oko who is currently benefiting from the scheme assured to do his the best in his academics.

 VUMEF produced 73 graduates and one Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D graduate in the 2021/2022 academic year.
