 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. 2023: SENATOR AL-MAKURA SAYS REPORT ON LEAVING APC IS FAKE.(PHOTO).

Immediate past governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has described as fake news, a now-viral report that he's set to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

The former governor who now represents Nasarawa South district at the Nigerian Senate dismissed the speculation in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Danjuma Joseph. 

According to the report, Senator Al-Makura had concluded plans to dump the ruling party for the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) to seek second term in the 2023 general elections. 

Reacting however, the lawmaker was quoted as saying he has never contemplated leaving the APC, a party he was a founding member in 2013. 

“I will be seeking a fresh mandate under the APC,’’ he added. 

He therefore urged supporters and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety and assured constituents of more dividends of democracy if reelected in 2023.
