Anne Schedeen, ALF star who played Kate Tanner, dies at 77 Anne Schedeen, best known for playing Kate Tanner on the NBC sitcom ALF, has died at the age of 77. Her family said she “passed peacefully” in a statement shared Sunday, adding that she died surrounded by the legacy of her life and work. A cause of death was not disclosed. In their tribute, her family described Schedeen as someone with “creative energy,” sharp humor, and a deep love for her family, storytelling, and rescue dogs. They remembered her as a strong presence in their lives, saying her memory would live on through her artwork, handmade creations, and “joie de vivre.” They also asked loved ones to honor her by supporting Habitat for Humanity in lieu of sending flowers. Her longtime agent confirmed her death and said she meant “the world” to both her family and her professional circle. Anambra Commissioner For Women Affairs Frowns At The Death Of The Gospel Artiste, Osinachi Over Domestic Violence.



The Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Ify Obinabo has frowned over the death of the Late Osinachi Nwachukwu which was alleged as a result of domestic violence. 

The commissioner who received members of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, Anambra State Chapter in her office at the Professor Women development center, Awka, decried the violence of all forms especially those on women appealing to parents to allow their daughters who are in abusive marriages to come back to them as she noted that separation is not divorce.

She said that Anambra women are not happy with the terrible death of their wife while calling on victims of abuse and family and friends who know one facing such situation to speak up.

Mrs Obinabo who noted that the Ministry will operate an open door policy, said that as a proud broadcaster, she will use her office to sensitize women on issues particularly those pertaining to violence.

Earlier the chairman of NAWOJ, Anambra State Chapter, Mrs Franklyn Onyekachi, congratulated the commissioner on her new appointment saying that her effort in the media has paid off.

She solicited for partnership from the ministry to protect the affairs of women in Anambra State.
