 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

Anambra State Government To Build Oxygen Plant At Onitsha General Hospital




Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike has stated that the State government will build an oxygen plant at Onitsha General Hospital.

Dr. Obidike made this known today, Wednesday, 20th April, 2022, after an inspection of hospital.

Speaking after the inspection, commissioner Obidike said that health is very critical to the governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration and that the visit was to enable him see what is on ground in the hospital and the deficiencies, with a view to solving them, as has been directed by the governor.

The Anambra health commissioner revealed that the oxygen plant which will be a massive one, is expected to serve Onitsha and its environs, and that it is expectedly to be completed within ninety days, all geared towards giving Ndi Anambra affordable, effective and efficient healthcare service delivery that would be comparable with the developed countries of the world.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Mercy Ebelechukwu-Anugwu who thanked the commissioner for the visit, expressed joy that a new oxygen plant is about to be cited in the hospital, even as she said that the oxygen plant will help them to save more lives and render top-notch healthcare services to their patients.
