 AGF to Meet Senate Panel on Tax Reform Bills Today The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), is set to meet with the Senate today (Thursday) to review the Tax Reform Bills submitted by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly. Amid controversy surrounding the bills, especially from the North, President Tinubu had urged for calm and directed the AGF to engage with the National Assembly to resolve the issues. In response, the Senate established a panel to meet with the AGF. Although the meeting had been delayed due to changes in the Senate panel's membership and caucus discussions, a source from the Ministry of Justice confirmed that the meeting will proceed today. Senator Abba Moro, Chairman of the Senate Special Committee, also confirmed that both the AGF and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, have been invited to the session. COMMANDANT EWEKA OKORO RECEIVES PROFESSIONAL WOMEN IN JOURNALISM.



The Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Okoro msc, acma, cna, receives the executives members of professional women in journalism ably led by their national president, a veteran journalist, Mrs Princess Lilian Odumosu, yesterday, Thursday, 7th April, 2022, to the state command's headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja.


The national president of the association, Mrs Princess Lilian Odumosu, on behalf of the executives, said, "they came to appreciate the Commandant for the great work his team is doing, in the fight against criminalities as well as against the vandalism of our critical national assets and infrastructure, amidst others, in Lagos State.


The Commandant as well in his response, appreciated the women for coming up with such a brilliant association in the journalism industry. He said, "it was a right step, in the right direction ." He also assured them of his readiness to continue to support such lofty initiatives, in a bid to further build a common front to achieving our collective goals.


Finally, the visit witnessed series of interactive sessions with the Commandant, with very serious security questions and profferable solutions shared during the deliberations.


However, when asked if the job was without any form of challenges by one of the female journalists? Commandant Eweka replied saying, "champions are made out of challenges and there is no job without challenges but what is more important, is to turn the challenges to opportunities to excel, in one's given assignment, which he has been doing in Lagos."


The association did not also hesitate to praise the great work of the Command's PRO, ASCI Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide, for re - invigorating the public relations unit of the Command to another level, within a short period of time.
