 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. 2023: Court Declares Jonathan Eligible To Contest Presidential Election

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa has ruled that former President Goodluck Jonathan is eligible and qualified to contest the 2023 presidential elections.

The presiding judge, Justice Isa Dashen gave the judgement on Friday.

He ruled that Jonathan’s right to contest for the office of president again cannot be stopped by any retroactive law.

Some presidential aspirants contesting on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have kicked against the decision of the Aso Rock cabal to adopt former President Goodluck Jonathan as the presidential consensus candidate of the party, SaharaReporters has gathered.

The cabal, comprising some members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s extended family and friends, are the powers behind the throne.
