 KADPOLY Alumni, Okpani Agbo Defends Student Who Exposed ‘Overzealous’ Dress Code Enforcement A Mass Communication alumnus of Kaduna Polytechnic, and Kaduna based Journalist, Okpani Austine Agbo Emmanuel, has defended the student who recently brought the alleged overzealous enforcement of the institution’s dress code into public discourse, describing her action as a courageous step that has helped expose concerns many students may have endured in silence. Okpani Agbo, on his verified social media handle on Saturday, said the student had done the institution a “great favour” by drawing public attention to an issue that may have affected several students without the courage or opportunity to speak out. According to him, in a democratic society, protests of such nature serve as a legitimate channel through which citizens can air their grievances and demand necessary reforms. SOLUDO CONDEMNS MURDER OF ANAMBRA LAWMAKER, HON OKECHUKWU OKOYE, PLEDGES N10M REWARD FOR ANY VALUABLE INFORMATION TO TRACK THE KILLERS

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has condemned the gruesome murder of the member representing Aguata, Constituency Two at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Okechukwu Okoye and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka who were kidnapped on the road on 15th, May, 2022.

Governor Soludo who was speaking through a Press Release signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, expressed sadness over the unfortunate incidence.

According to the release, Governor Soludo condoled with his kinsmen of Isuofia, noting that it is probably the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that are once again on the prowl. 

While expressing shock and the resolve of his government in confronting insecurity in the state, the release quotes the Governor as offering a reward of ten (10) million naira for anyone or group that will give valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, Mr Echeng Echeng has described the murder of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye as barbaric and an act of cowardice.
The CP had in a press release signed by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, recalled that the Command Operatives earlier embarked on a rescue operation following the incident of his abduction on same date at about 5:30pm along Aguluzigbo Umuona, Aguata LGA.

The Police Commissioner said while the rescue operation was still ongoing, a headless body was seen and later recovered by Police along Nnobi, Ideani road which was later confirmed as Hon Okechuwu Okoye. The corpse has been deposited in morgue

The Commissioner of Police, while commiserating with the family and friends assured that the perpetrators of this dastardly act shall be brought to book.
