  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. INSURGENCY: PRESIDENT BUHARI PLEDGES TO COLLABORATE WITH SOUTH SUDAN


Nigeria will lend a helping hand to South Sudan in fighting insurgency, and restoring cohesion to the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has promised.

The President spoke Friday at State House, Abuja, while receiving in audience Hon. Albino Mathom Ayuel, Special Envoy of President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan.

He told the Special Envoy of the situation this administration met on ground in the North East in 2015, and how great strides have been taken in comparison with present days.

“We will study your situation, and see how we can help,” President Buhari said.

The Special Envoy had intimated his host with the situation in his country, particularly how an insurgent group, “just like your Boko Haram here kills, maims and destroys.” He then appealed for “close collaboration on security, particularly the training of our forces, since you have experience in this area.”

Mr Albino Ayuel said South Sudan was keen on ending the insurgent activities, “hence this appeal to our big brother.”
