 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. EFCC, Investment Ministry to Tackle Intellectual Property Issues

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, assured the Registrar, Trademarks, Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Barrister Shafiu Adamu Yauri, of the Commission’s preparedness to collaborate with it in sanitizing the business environment for the betterment of the country. “I want to assure you that our arms are open, we will collaborate together to ensure that the sanity that your department wants to bring to the system is enhanced by the enforcement and prosecution of those that cross the line.”

The EFCC boss who spoke during a courtesy visit by the Registrar and his team to the Commission, noted that trademark infringements and other intellectual property violations were within the purview of the Commission, adding that the Commission will not hesitate to deal with those who cross the line.
