 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Police Nab Man 34 For Smashing 3yr - Old Child To Death At Nkwele Ezunaka, Oyi Council Area 

The Anambra State Police Operatives yesterday arrested one Mr. Onwele Anayo aged thirty-four, on the murder of Divine Eze aged three, residing in Hillview Estate, Nkwelle -Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.

 

In a release signed by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said that Preliminary information shows that the suspect visited the father of the victim on Wednesday fifteenth June 2022 and spent the night in the victim’s house, and in the early hours of yesterday, an argument ensued between the father and the suspect.

 

The suspect took the child as he was sleeping and killed him, by hitting him on the floor severally and carrying a knife from the room, pursuing the father around the house, threatening to kill him.

 

Police Operatives have visited the scene and recovered the body of the child and investigation is ongoing.

 

The police said that further development in the matter will be communicated to the public.
