 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. EID-EL-KABIR: SULTAN DECLARES JULY 9 AS CELEBRATION DAY

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared July 9 as Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah).

This is the second significant celebration in Islam.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by the National Moonsighting Committee Nigeria on its Twitter handle, @moonsightingng.

In the announcement, the Sultan was quoted as calling on muslims to intensify efforts in acts of worship during the first ten days of the blessed month of Zul-Hijjah and also pray for peace, stability and progress of the country.

The tweets read: “Assalaamu alaikum, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, has declared Thursday 30th, June as the first day of Dhul Hijjah.

“The Sultanate council will release an official statement shortly.

“Eidul Adha will be on Saturday, 10th Zul-Hijjah 1443H (9th July 2022) In Sha Allah. His Eminence, the Sultan hereby calls upon the Muslim Ummah to intensify efforts in acts of worship during the first ten days of the blessed month of Zul-Hijjah and also pray for peace, stability and progress of the country”, it added.
