 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Funke Akindele confirms she’s Jandor’s running mate
 
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, on Tuesday confirmed that she is the running mate to Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State in the 2023 election.

In a video she posted on her verified Instagram page, she revealed her reasons for going into politics.

Her words: “I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.

“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”

Akindele will be officially unveiled as running mate to Jandor in Ikorodu later today.

The event, which is coming up at the residence of the apex leader of Lagos4Lagos Movement, late Mrs Adenrele Ogunsanya, Ikorodu, is scheduled for 11 am.
