 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Security Breeches: FG Orders Immediate Closure of FGC Kwali, Abuja. 



The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered the immediate closure of one of its colleges, the Federal Government College, FGC, Kwali, located in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja . 

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who gave the directive said the closure became necessary following security breaches on Sheda and Lambata Villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council which also threatened the school. 

A statement signed by the Director Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, quoted the Minister, as saying the timely intervention of security agencies saved the situation and therefore, directed that arrangements be made for final year students to conclude their NECO examinations.

The statement also noted that the Minister had also directed Principals of Unity Colleges across the country to liaise with Security Agencies within their jurisdictions to forestall any security breaches in their schools.

Meanwhile, there have been unsubstantiated information that other Federal Government Colleges within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have asked parents to come pick their children earlier than the official closing date owing to insecurity in the Capital City.
