 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Security Breeches: FG Orders Immediate Closure of FGC Kwali, Abuja. 



The Federal Ministry of Education has ordered the immediate closure of one of its colleges, the Federal Government College, FGC, Kwali, located in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja . 

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who gave the directive said the closure became necessary following security breaches on Sheda and Lambata Villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council which also threatened the school. 

A statement signed by the Director Press and Public Relations, Ben Bem Goong, quoted the Minister, as saying the timely intervention of security agencies saved the situation and therefore, directed that arrangements be made for final year students to conclude their NECO examinations.

The statement also noted that the Minister had also directed Principals of Unity Colleges across the country to liaise with Security Agencies within their jurisdictions to forestall any security breaches in their schools.

Meanwhile, there have been unsubstantiated information that other Federal Government Colleges within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have asked parents to come pick their children earlier than the official closing date owing to insecurity in the Capital City.
