 *PRESS RELEASE* EDO POLICE CONVENES POLITICAL PARTIES, SETS SECURITY TONE FOR 2027 ELECTIONEERING The Edo State Police Command has convened Chairmen of political parties, candidates and other key stakeholders in the electoral process for a strategic security meeting ahead of the 2027 electioneering campaigns. The meeting, held on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, was designed to strengthen engagement between the Police and political actors, promote early understanding of security expectations, and establish a framework for peaceful and lawful political activities across the State. Addressing participants, the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, psc(+), mnips, emphasised that the role of the Police is to create the conditions for lawful political activity to thrive, not to participate in the political contest, and stressed the need for responsible conduct and sustained cooperation with security agencies.  21-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR STEALING BOSS’ CAR TO FUND RELOCATION ABROAD

 
Operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested 21-year-old Temple Samuel for stealing his boss’ Lexus ES 330 car. 

The suspect was arrested in the Ogba area of Lagos State with three others, namely Benjamin Bassey aged 32, Chukwuemeka Okorie aged 29 and Joshua Agboche aged 37, who had conspired with him to sell the car. 

Investigation revealed that the suspect who works in his boss’ car wash at Egbeda drove the car away in the middle of the night, with his boss’ iPhone X and iPhone 13 to Bassey’s house in Ikeja. He equally fraudulently transferred N75,000 from his boss’ account. 

The suspect had perfected plans to use the proceeds of the sales of the car and other valuables he stole to process his traveling out of the country. 
 
In the meantime, Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State CID, Panti for further investigations and prosecution.
