 Makhuva Sangoma Shot Dead in Ka Nwakhuwani Village  An 80-year-old elderly man, known in the community as a traditional healer (sangoma), was shot and killed at Ka Nwakhuwani village outside Giyani.  The incident occurred on Saturday night, 13 December 2025. The deceased originally resided in Makhuva village but later relocated due to past community tensions.  About ten years ago, a young man in Makhuva village died after being struck by lightning, and some community members accused the sangoma of being responsible. Following the accusations, he left Makhuva village and settled in Ka Nwakhuwani.  On the night of the incident, an unknown man visited the victim’s home, claiming to be a police sergeant. The victim reportedly came out of his house to attend to the visitor. The suspect then allegedly shot the elderly man outside his yard. CLARIFICATION ON ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSiON OF ELECTION RESULT

The Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) attention has been drawn to misunderstanding arising from a short interview granted to a national newspaper on 
the procedure for result managerment during elections Some have Interpreted the explanation e transmission of result management procedure to mean that the Commission has jettisoned

the electronic transmission of result and reverted to the manual process. This is not correct.

Far clarity, the procedure for result transmission remains the same as in recent
Governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States. There will be no change in all future
elections, including the 2023 General Election.

We wish to reassure Nigerians that the electronic transmission ot result has come to stay. It
as to tne crelbiy and transpareney or the process when citizens tonow poling unie ever

no change or deviation in subsenuent l OEctIOn Day. There will be

The entire gamut of result management is provided for in Sections 60, 62 and 64 of the

Electoral Act 2022 In line with the provision the aw, tne ommisson, in Apntns year,
released a detailed ciaritication of thee procedure tor transmission, collation and declaration
of result which was shared with all stakeholders and uploaded to our website.

We appeal to all Nigerians to avail themselves of the provisions of the Electoral Act and the

Commission's detailed explanation of the procedure and not reach a conclusion on the basis
of media headlines.
