  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. "I attended the Year 2022 Children and Youth Harvest Thanksgiving service of the Diocese of Lagos (Anglican Communion) Our Saviour's Church earlier today.

I used the opportunity to admonish young people to take charge of the future from today because they are the future of our country and the African continent.

Young people must actively participate in different activities that are geared toward nation building because leadership is not only achieved when people are elected as governors or president.

The Church provides a great foundation for life of service and it is important our youth take up responsibilities by serving and learning vital lessons therein."-Gov. Sanwo-Olu.
