 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. No Plan To Impeach El-Rufai – Kaduna Speaker

The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Zailani, said there was no plan to impeach the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, saying the purported report was false.

A social media viral report had gone wide that the Assembly was on the verge of impeaching the governor.

However, the Speaker through his media aide, Ibrahim Danfulani, in a statement released in Kaduna on Sunday, said the report was false and should be discarded.

According to Zailani, the report is simply the handiwork of the opposition and enemies of the progress that exist between the governor and the lawmakers in the state.

The Speaker said, ” The attention of the Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly has been drawn to a report of purported impeachment moves against Gov. Nasir El-Rufai over corruption allegations circulating on social platforms.

“This is simply the handiwork of opposition and enemies of progress of the relationship between the legislative arm of governent and the executive under the able leadership of Malam Nasir el-Rufai, apparently to create crises between the legislative and the executive and in order to deny the good people of Kaduna State the dividends of democracy they are benefitting courtesy of the good working relationship between the executive and the legislative.

“The report which also said the relationship between the governor and the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani, has been frosty for quite some time now is also nothing but the figment of imagination of the writer and perhaps their sponsors.

“It is also untrue that the state lawmakers are currently investigating the expenditures of all the Ministries, Agencies and Parasatals of the state government.

“I, therefore, wish to state categorically that the entire report is maliciously concerted to misinform the general public and should be disregarded in its entirety.”

Meanwhile, the Speaker added that the origin of the purported report would be thoroughly investigated with the view to bringing the perpetrators and their sponsors to book to serve as deterent to others.

“Let it however be noted that the relationship between the legislature and Executive is cordial and it is expected not only to remain so but be improved upon,” he added.
