Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, BEING IN POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY NOTES


As part of our sustained dedication to combating crimes and criminality in Bauchi State, while providing regular updates to the general public, the Command has maintained its crime prevention operations strategies and recorded tremendous success, a part which is enumerated as follows.

On 21st August 2022 at about 1930hrs detectives attached to C’ Divisional Police headquarters, Bauchi acted on an actionable and credible intelligence report available at their disposal swung into action and arrested three suspects for being in possession and production of counterfeit currency. 

The suspect who was identified as one Yusuf Mohammed ‘m’ 25yrs of Yakubu Wanka area of Bauchi was arrested on 21st august, 2022 at about 1930hrs near Ogbunna Hotel in Bayan Gari area of Bauchi with the sum of seventy-five-thousand-naira (N75,0000) counterfeit notes. 

The suspect reveals that he got the counterfeit notes from one Shehu Shagari ‘m’ 42yrs of Inkil area of Bauchi who is equally at police facility for his involvement in the case. As the investigation continues, the said Shehu Shagari indicted one Malam Yusuf ‘m’ of Durum village of Bauchi now at large who is believed to be a prime suspect. Later, an investigation was extended on a search warrant to his house at Durum village where another suspect Rabiu Samaila ‘m’ 35yrs of Durum village was apprehended at the house while producing counterfeit naira notes. 

A discreet investigation commenced in earnest, the following exhibits were recovered from the suspect;

One 3-in-1 black printer
The sum of seventy-five-thousand-naira notes (N75, 000)
Five pieces of calabash containing charms
Twenty-two (22) pieces of perfume bottles 
One dried chameleon
One piece of white yard
Fourteen pieces of printed naira notes on A4 size paper. 

Meanwhile, surveillance is intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect and brought to face the full wrath of the law.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS*

Following a complaint lodged by one Alh Adamu Juji ‘m’ of Zadawa village, Misau LG Bauchi stated that on 21 August 2022 at about 1000hrs he received a kidnap threat through a phone call from an unknown person and demanded the sum of one million nairas (N1,000.000) from him otherwise they would kidnap him.

However, on 24th August 2022 at about 0600hrs the detectives attached to Misau Divisional Police Headquarters valiantly swung into action and tracked down the following suspects. Name;

Ilu Wakili ‘m’ aged 30yrs
Abubakar Bello ‘m’ aged 30yrs
Muhammed Bello ‘m’ aged 37yrs
Hussaini Abdullahi ‘m’ aged 38yrs both of Zadawa village Misau LGA of Bauchi.

During interrogation, the suspects confess to the crime.

The commissioner of Police *CP UMAR SANDA* has directed that the suspects be charged to court on completion of the investigation.  

On a final note, the Command wish to reiterate its resolute to ensure that criminals have no hidden place in the State. Safety and security are not the sole responsibility of security agencies alone, hence members of the public are enjoined to play a vital role in ensuring peace is sustained by availing the police with useful information that will be instrumental to unbundling criminal activities.
