 Malian army withdraws from key Tessalit military camp: sources Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies have surrendered Camp Tessalit, a strategic military post in the north, multiple sources told the AFP news agency on Friday. An official from the Tuareg-led separatist group claimed soldiers and mercenaries at the camp had "surrendered", following a fierce fight over the weekend. Simultaneous attacks in Mali by militants linked to Al Qaeda and separatist Tuareg rebels on April 25 showed how fighters ​from different groups with different goals were able to strike at the heart of the West African country's military government. Gunfire and explosions were reported in the capital Bamako and around a large military base outside the capital, as well as Gao and central areas, as gunfire continuing in the northern city of Kidal. Making Anambra Fashion Expo An Annual Event Is A Big Win For Our Youths - Mrs Soludo



Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has said that the decision to make Anambra Fashion Expo an annual fixture will sustain opportunities for youths and up-and-coming creatives in the fashion industry. 

Mrs Soludo, who stated this in Awka while appraising performance of the just concluded maiden edition of the fashion show, explained that apart from recording huge success in the first outing, the event has passed basic economic and social tests, and opens up entrepreneural opportunities for Anambra youths. 

The governor's wife stated that domesticating the event in Anambra State will give birth to a new way of life, develop talents and creativity, boost local economy and, most importantly, keep youths meaningfully engaged.

She praised her daughter, Ms. Adaora Soludo for bringing the Aorah global brand home, championing Anambra's fashion journey and for supporting Governor Soludo's passion and investment in indigenous brands.

The Anambra First Lady also noted that with the turn out, performance and great enthusiasm displayed by youths at the maiden event, she is certain that it will discover talents who will fly colours of the State on the global runway. 

Mrs Soludo, while thanking the show organizers and everyone whose inputs helped to make the occasion a success, promised to keep showing support for ideas and goals that benefit every Anambra youth.
