 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. N712 Million Fraud: You Have a Case to Answer, Court Tells Ex Gov. Lamido, Sons, Coys

The Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu has dismissed the no case submission filed by a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, who is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a 37-count amended charge bordering on abuse of office and money laundering to the tune of N712, 008, 035 (Seven Hundred and Twelve Million and Eight Thousand and Thirty Five Naira. He is to open his defense on November 8-11, 2022.

Ex governor Lamido was arraigned alongside two of his sons – Aminu Lamido and Mustapha Lamido; Aminu Wada Abubakar, Bamaina Holdings Ltd and Speeds International Ltd for allegedly defrauding the state.

He allegedly abused his position as governor between 2007 and 2015 by awarding contracts to companies where he had interest, using his two sons as fronts.
