 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. National Honours: Buhari approves CON for Zulum 

The President, President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the conferment of CON (Commander of the Order of the Niger) as national honours on Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum. 

Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, announced this in a letter he conveyed to the governor. 

“I have the honour to formally inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammad Buhari, GCFR,
has approved the conferment of the National Honours on you, in the rank of CON (Commander of the Order of the Niger)”, Akume wrote. 

The minister, in the letter dated September 19, 2022, with reference number Ref: FMSDIGA/NHA/001k/T/90 said the honours investiture will hold in the morning of Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja. 

National Honours are the highest honours Presidents of most countries confer on citizens who make exceptional contributions in service to their country.

On Tuesday, August 28, 2021, President Mohammed Bazoum of the Republic of Niger decorated Governor Zulum with his country’s Second-Order National Honour, “de Grand Officer Dans I`Ordre”, which is the equivalent of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, in Nigeria’s ranking of national honours. 

Zulum has more than 20 awards majority of them from highest ranking newspapers in Nigeria and from high level professional bodies and academic institutions including from the University of Ibadan, the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, amongst others.
