 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Nsugbe/Anam Crisis: Anambra Govt Pledges To Resolve Conflicting Issues

Anambra State Government has waded into a fresh communal conflict between Nsugbe and Anam communities and assured to deploy the best conflict resolution strategies to ensure long lasting peace between them.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Honourable Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne gave the assurance while dialoguing with stakeholders from both communities, including their traditional rulers at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.

According to the commissioner, the government will do everything necessary to resolve the conflict, saying that a committee will be constituted to identify the underlying causes of the conflict and address them through guiding the parties towards solutions that are mutually satisfactory and sustaining.

He reminded both parties of their brotherhood, stating that the unfortunate incident should not cause war between them, while pleading with them to sheath their sword and seek peaceful resolution.

Honourable Nwabunwanne reiterated that the government of Governor Chukwuma Soludo is already working round the clock to ensure that absolute peace and tranquility exist among communities of the state.

On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Dr. Anslem Onuorah, expressed worry over the unfortunate incident and pleaded with both parties to remain calm, to avoid the issues escalating.

In a vote of thanks, the traditional ruler of Nsugbe, Igwe Victor Ntoka and his Umuoba Anam counterpart, Igwe George Ekwealor, thanked the state government for their urgent intervention and urged their subjects to remain calm as the government decisively take action for peaceful coexistence.

 A dispute between two individuals from both communities, reportedly ensued last Sunday at Abata Nsugbe, excitimg communal interests leading to the vandalization of Ugoo hotel and suites situated at Nsugbe.

It was reported that the conflict led to severe injuries on victims who are currently receiving medical treatments.

Speaking to ABS, the hotel Manager, Mr. Ikechukwu Zeigbo on behalf of the hotel owner,  Chief Amaechi Okeke claimed that properties destroyed worth over twenty million naira, saying that what they demand is for both communities to fish out the culprits who caused the mayhem and bring them to book.

According to him, the hotel owner has decided to bear the cost of the damage done on his property while praying that the long existing peace and love between the two communities to be rekindled and built upon.

It was further understood that the hotel owner in the interest of peace restoration, offered to bear the medical expenses of those who sustained injuries.
