Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. Peace Corps National Commandant Donates Modern Police Divisional Building, Vehicle, Furnitures To Police In Benue

As Senator Moro Describes Amb. Prof. Akoh as a True Nigerian

National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh has donated an ultra modern divisional police building, vehicle and a tastly furnished offices with CCTV cameras and computers to the Nigeria Police Force.

The donation of the edifice took place at Ogoli- Ugboju, in Ugboju District of Otukpo local government area of Benue State.
In his welcome address, the donor, Amb. Prof. Akoh said before now Ogoli- Ugboju during the olden days use to be the headquaters of Adoka, Onyagede and the present day Ohimini local government area, saying the place is long overdue to have a Divisional Police Headquarters.

Prof. Akoh also said the people of the community are grateful to the Inspector General of Police for the approval for the establishment of a Police Division and commended the Commissioner of Police, Benue State, CP Wale Abass for personally honouring the invitation to be part of the epoch making event.

The Peace Corps National Commandant also revealed that before now the area use to be a theater of cultism that masquraded themselves into criminal activities robbing market men and women of their hard earned money from sales of their farm produce. He said since the news of the establishment of the Divisional Command in the area, those hoodlooms are already finding their way out of the town because they know that they will be fished out if they continue with their nefarious activities.

He further stated that as a way of sustainability, the community have agreed to pay Annual Security Levy to aid in the smooth operations of the Command as he promised to refurbish the Police patrol vehicle stationed at Och'Ugboju palace in addition to the one billed for donation as part of the event.

The Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass who represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba said the Inspector General of Police is so happy and grateful to Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh who use his personal resources in building such a magnificent and tastly furnished state of the art Divisional Headquarters to the Nigeria Police Force.

He said as a measure to bring policing closer to the people, the IGP have graciously approved the deployment of 26 officers to man the Command and have directed the officers and men to adhere strictly to the Police Rules in the discharge of their assignments. He further stated that the IGP intends to bring youths on board and that’s why he is taking policing to the grassroots. He encourage the youths to be law abiding and not to take laws into their hands for peace to reign in the community.

Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Patrick Moro in his remarks said the Ugboju people have a son in the person of Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh that many people from other areas of the Idoma nation are yearning to have as he described him as a worthy son of  Idoma land and a true Nigerian.

He said for Prof. Akoh to secure a Divisional Police Headquarters from the Inspector General of Police at this present time coupled with the security challenges in the country is to him a miracle.
He promised all within his powers to assist the police in the task of carrying out their duties effectively with the donation of two motorcycles and an operational vehicle.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who was represented at the event by the Executive Chairman of Otukpo LGC, Hon. Bako Ejeh said he felt relieved as the establishment of the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogoli- Ugboju will reduce security challenges in the area to the barest minimum. He commended the Inspector General of Police for creating additional three divisions in Otukpo LGA.
The governor appealed to the people to give adequate information to the police for them to do their work effectively . He commended Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh for the magnanimity and show of love to his community in deploying his personal resources to the building of such a gigantic edifice to the Nigeria Police Force.

The paramount ruler of the area, Obande Ku- Ugboju, HRH Chief Solomon Apochi eulogize the kind disposition of Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh in bringing development to Ugboju land and urged other illustrious sons and daughters of Ugboju to emulate him to bring more developments to the community . He said the community is grateful to the Inspector General of Police for approving a Divisional Headquarters in the area.
The paramount ruler requested for the establishment of Police Outpost at Okwudu and Akpachi to tackle some security challenges witnessed in area.
He urged parents to warn their children to desist from any act of lawlessness as anyone found to breach the peace will face the full wrath of the law.

Highlights of the event was the official commissioning and handover of the edifice by  Amb. Prof. Dickson Akoh to Commissioner of Police Benue State and donation of a patrol van to the Command.
