 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Anambra FRSC Sector Command Receives New Zonal Commander, Njoku



The Zonal Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps In charge of Anambra, Delta and Edo States, Mr. Chukwuma Njoku, has implored officers of the corps  in Anambra State Sector Command to be committed to the discharge of their duties to ensure that the mandate of the corps is achieved effectively for the benefit of the nation.

Mr. Njoku gave the charge during his first official visit to the State's FRSC headquarters in Awka.

The Zonal Commander appreciated the sector command for welcoming him, and for being on top of the list in the ratings of commands throughout the federation, urging them to continue to maintain the eminent position.

He reminded the command that FRSC is not unaware of the numerous challenges facing various commands especially in Anambra, which include insecurity and flooding, while urging the command to have improved relationship with sister agencies. 

Mr. Njoku who urged the staff to take advantage of the various housing scheme the Corps is carrying out in various states, warned them to be disciplined and abstain from lateness and intolerance, while thanking various stakeholders who have been very supportive to the corps in the state.

Earlier, the Anambra State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi who thanked the Zonal Commander for the visit, reeled out a brief composition and components of the command to him.

Mr. Irelewuyi who informed the Zonal Commander of the challenges facing the Command, appreciated the Special Marshals for their efforts in the state, while reiterating the command's  commitment in reducing road crashes and ensuring free flow of vehicular movement.

In a similar development, the FRSC Zonal Commander in company of some senior Officers of the command later visited the Assistant Inspector General of Police incharge of Zone 13 Ukpo, Mr. Umar Muri, seeking for more robust synergy between the Police and the Corps. 

The Zonal Commander, who also paid a courtesy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu appreciated him for his unrelenting efforts in the command while informing him of the flag off of ember months by the Corps at UNIZIK Junction Awka.

Responding, the AIG in charge of Zone 13, Mr. Muri pledged to always partner the Corps for it to achieve its mandate, while Obi Nwosu assured him of maximum support. 

Highpoint of the visit by Zonal Commander was the inspection of quarter guards at Awka and Nteje as well as the supervision of roadside clinic at Nteje Unit Command.
