 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Inspects an IDP Camp at Onitsha

Going round the temporary shelter, Crowther Memorial Primary Onitsha, Tonycollins Nwabunwanne who commended the TC chairman of Anambra West Hon Felix Ikechi and the Camp Manager who were on ground during the visit for their efforts so far and tasked them to fix other necessity that would make the camp more suitable for the people displaced by flood. 

Addressing the displaced persons, the commissioner said "Umunnem, I feel your pains...it is not easy for one to vacate his home to a place like this...But you don't have to worry much because the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo CFR knows that you are here and he is making serious efforts to ensure that you would not lack any of the basic necessities of life during your staying here...We will be coming time to time to see how things is going here".

Reacting on behalf of the IDPs, Hon Onwuadi Emmanuel, a native of Igbokenyi Community in Anambra West thanked the commissioner and informed him that a lot of people from various communities in Anambra West will arrive the camp tomorrow. He equally pleaded for aids from the government.
