 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Armed Men Exchange Fire with Security Forces in Uli

Uli, a town in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra state and home for the first campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) experienced heavy shootout yesterday.

According to an eye witness report, unidentified armed men with automatic rifle who came in a Toyota sienna vehicle and motorcycles engaged the security forces in a shootout in the university town that lasted for several hours.

The issue of insecurity in Uli and Ihiala local government has become a matter of grave concern to all and sundry. The security situation in the local government area has caused massive exodus of indigenes and well-to-do individuals from the town. It has equally affected the school community as students and lecturers are now living in fear, a situation which has affected the once school environ.

As at the time of filing this report, the identity of the armed men still remains a mystery and no casualty was recorded
