 Nigerian Pilots and Crew Released in Burkina Faso, Head to Portugal Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has announced the release and departure of the pilots and crew of the Nigerian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft (NAF 913) that had been detained in Burkina Faso. In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambassador Tuggar confirmed that  following  engagement in Burkina Faso, the pilots and crew of NAF C-130 (913) have been formally cleared to depart and are currently en route to Portugal via Accra. The minister highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to dialogue and regional cooperation, stating that these efforts continue to yield positive outcomes. Ambassador Tuggar paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and steady guidance which he said proved decisive in resolving the matter through constructive diplomacy and peaceful engagement.

Dubai Police organises International Forum on Drones
 
The Dubai Police has recently organised an international forum on Drones to exchange expertise, explore future opportunities, and review best practices and global benchmarks about the emerging technology.  
 
His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, witnessed the Forum's official launch, which seeks to develop solutions and tackle potential challenges to using drones and their use and features related futuristic technical solutions.
 
Al Ghaithi said that drones possess high capabilities and technical specifications that facilitate police operations, most notably thermal and optical imaging, sensors, sirens, and direct integration with command and control centres.
 
"By gathering drones experts and specialists under one roof, we seek to utilise drones in enhancing security and safety and achieve the highest levels of public safety," Al Ghaithi said.
 
Held at the Dubai Police Innovation Lab, the Forum was attended by many senior officers, including Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Acting Director of the General Department of Operations, and several officials, specialists, participating delegations and university students.
 
The Forum concluded with some recommendations regarding the need to provide technical advice in the field of drones, to support various parties involved in this technology, especially university students, and to benefit from related case studies and research.
