 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. TWO ARRESTED WITH TOY GUNS IN OGUN DURING ROBBERY OPERATION.


A 29 years old lady, Chioma Okafor, was on Friday 25th of November 2022, arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command while carrying out robbery operation with a 19 years old boy Nweke Joshua at Adesan area of Mowe. 

The suspects were arrested following a distress call received at Mowe divisional headquarters at about 9:30 pm, that armed robbers have invaded a food stuff shop, owned by one Johnson Nwokoro at Safari Junction Adesan and dispossesing the owner of the day's sales.
