Zambia president approves law expanding parliament months before election Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema on Thursday signed into law constitutional changes that will expand the country's parliament, Reuters reported. ACTDA Demolishes Illegally Acquired Properties On Proposed Government House, Awka

Officials of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) have demolished and recovered illegally acquired lands and properties within the new Government House, Awka.

The officials who were led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ossy Onuko, had officers from the various security agencies, members of the vigilante, among others.

Explaining the essence of the exercise, the ACTDA Head of Development Control, Mr. Charles Ekwunife said that the agency had issued more than five warnings to the developers to stop work but none was obeyed.

Mr. Ekwunife revealed that the area where they erected the illegal structures was the land meant for the new Government House which he said that construction was seriously ongoing.

The ACTDA Head of Development Control warned developers within the Capital Territory to always visit the Agency's office in Awka to ascertain the authenticity of the land or property they would want to develop before embarking on them to avoid regrets.

He promised that ACTDA will continue to discharge its duties within the confines of the law, as it conforms with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration of making Anambra, a livable and prosperous homeland.
