  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. ANAMBRA STATE HIGH COURT COMMENCES HEARING ON CHILDREN, SEXUAL OFFENCES CASES.


Following the establishment of a specialized magistrate court for children, sexual and gender based violence offences in the state, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, has approved the establishment of a high court for children, sexual and gender based violence offences in the state. 

The establishment of the court follows request by the state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo 

The court designated "Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Court Holden" Awka is the first of its kind in the history of the state. 

The high court will strictly try special offences that affect children or gender based violences such as rape, child defilement, gender based violent crimes and other related offenses.

The aim is to give accelerated hearing and to ensure speedy justice delivery in such cases. 

Its first Chief Judge is Justice Peace Otti, with high court 3 as its presiding court. 

Suspects were arraigned before the court and more than five cases that bordered on rape and child defilement were heard on the first day of trial in the court.

Some cases were adjourned to 13th January, 2023 while a defendant arraigned before the court was remanded at Amawbia Correctional Center.

Meanwhile, at the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Court of the magistrate court Awka, more than 25 cases have been binded over to the high Court.
