 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. Gunmen Attack Southern Kaduna Community Again After Mass Burial

Gunmen have again attacked Kagoro, in Mallagum-Kagoro, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

DAILY POST reports that the Southern Kaduna community was attacked again Friday night, a day after the mass burial of those killed earlier.

The attack was carried out between the hours of 9pm to 10pm by the gunmen who started shooting sporadically.
A source, who spoke to DAILY POST, stated that the gunmen came in their large numbers, fully armed.

He added, “While the gunmen were shooting sporadically and the people were running for their safety, the timely intervention of the military saved the situation and no life was lost.”

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammed Jalige could not be reached for comment.
