 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Immortalise Late Lawmaker, Okafor By Living Out His Legacies- Soludo Charges Family



Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has called on the family of the late lawmaker representing Awka Constituency One and Majority leader  the State House of Assembly, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor to immortalise the late lawmaker and live out his legacies.

Governor Soludo made the call at St Patrick's Cathedral, Awka, where the funeral mass took place.

According to the Governor, immortalising the lawmaker entails carrying out some of the principals that he lived for and transmit same to his children, saying that it is the only way to sustain his legacies in perpetuity.

While communicating his condolences to the family, Professor Soludo described Dr. Okafor's demise as a great loss to the entire state and his immediate family in particular.

The Governor called on the congregation to take advantage of the State health insurance scheme and conduct regular checks on their health, because the life expectancy in Nigeria is low.

He pointed out that in addition, people should take care of their environment as it is part of the emphasis of his government on building the liveable and prosperous homeland.

In an interview, the Speaker, Anambra State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor described his colleague's death as saddening, saying the lawmaker was a tested brother and colleague. 

Earlier in a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Awka, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor said that there is time for everything on earth- time to be born and time to die, calling on the congregation to be careful about the kind of life they live. 

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Deputy Speaker, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, Traditional Prime Minister of Awka, Chief Ben Okoye, members of the State House of Assembly, family, friends and well wishers, attended the mass celebration which featured choir ministrations.
