LAGOS ASSEMBLY COMMENDS NEIGHBOURHOOD SAFETY AGENCY

The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information Security and Strategy has commended the Management of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) for its efforts at ensuring a safer and secured Lagos State.

Hon. Setonji David, Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, who gave the commendation during the committee’s familiarisation visit to the Agency at the Safety Arena complex, Bolade Oshodi, said the operatives of the Agency are majorly responsible for the relative peace and security being enjoyed by residents of Lagos State.

He said that the State has been more peaceful than others despite its urban population and the preponderance of socio-economic activities across its landscape, often a recipe for crimes and criminalities.

The Chairman also applauded the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, for his support for the Bill that established the Agency, noting that the Agency has achieved so much since its establishment.

He further disclosed that he will encourage other members of the State House of Assembly to visit the Agency to see for themselves all that has been achieved under the current management, promising that LAHA will always give priority to security matters concerning the Agency.

In his words, “We have seen the fantastic job you guys are doing here and you can be sure that we will be there to give you maximum parliamentary support whenever the need arises”.

On his part, Hon. Ganiu Okanlawon Sanni, a member of the Committee, lauded the leadership style of the General Manager, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, describing him as a creative Manager of resources and men.

In his words, “Mr. Governor’s vision has always been on point and the appointment of Dr. Ifalade is another pointer to this fact. All the good things I have heard about the Agency and its General Manager have been reinforced during this visit”.

While conducting the Committee members around the Agency’s facilities, Prince Oyekan said the visit is timely as the LNSA prepares to create the structures for its newly established units towards attaining greater efficiency and effectiveness.

He thanked the House Committee members for their support in the past while hoping the Agency will continue to enjoy e greater level of support from the Committee.
