LISA MARIE PRESLEY PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 54 FROM A HEART ATTACK.(PHOTOS).#RIP.

Lisa Marie Presley passed yesterday from a heart attack at only 54 years old.

She reportedly had health problems for several years, some stemming from an opioid addiction. Presley said she became addicted after the birth of one of her children in 2008.

She was prescribed painkillers and at the time was still coping with the grief of losing a number of loved ones, including a son who was also an addict and committed suicide. Prayers and love for Presley's family and all those struggling with grief as well as addiction.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," Priscilla confirmed in a statement Thursday evening.

"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."

On Thursday morning, Presley was rushed to the hospital for a possible cardiac arrest. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to PEOPLE that paramedics responded to the 5900 block of Normandy drive in Calabasas to treat a woman in her 50s who was not breathing. When they arrived, the paramedics began CPR and, upon noting the patient had "signs of life," transferred the woman to a local hospital for "immediate medical care."

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed to newsmen that the unit was dispatched to the address for a cardiac arrest call.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee on Feb. 1, 1968, exactly nine months after Elvis and Priscilla's wedding, Lisa Marie was briefly raised in the area before moving to Los Angeles at age 4 with her mother following her parents' 1973 divorce.

Elvis died in August 1977 when Lisa Marie was 9 years old, making her the joint heir to his estate alongside grandfather Vernon Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley. Following their respective deaths in 1979 and 1980, she became the sole heir and also inherited her father's Graceland residence.

It is with a heavy heart today that the Dead Horse Branding office and client Tony Brown share this statement with you.

Tony would like to provide you with a personal statement in regards to the recent news of the passing of Lisa Marie Presley.

“I met Lisa Marie Presley when she was about 7 or 8 years old and then I actually reconnected with her when she moved to Nashville and worked on the ‘Storm & Grace’ album with T Bone Burnett. Over the last few years, I have stayed in touch with her. She was one of the sweetest people I’ve known. I have fond memories of Elvis’ love for Lisa Marie Presley when she was a child. My warmest sympathies go out to Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s family. This is a great loss indeed.”
