 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Prof Ikechebelu Reappointed As The DVC Of Unizik Awka

Prof. Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu, FAMedS has been re-appointed for another term of two years on the saddle as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State.

The reappointment took effect at the 217th Senate meeting of the institution held on Wednesday, 18th January 2023 at the University Auditorium and convened by UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles O. Esimone, FAS, FPSN.

Recall that Prof. Ikechebelu, a consultant in the medical field Obstetrics and Gynaecology was elected the institution's DVC (Admin) in January 2021, he was reappointed to continue in same capacity for another two year term. He is from Abagana, Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.
