 Zambia president approves law expanding parliament months before election Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema on Thursday signed into law constitutional changes that will expand the country's parliament, Reuters reported. The changes increase the number of members of parliament to around 280 from 167 currently by creating more constituencies, reserving 40 new seats for women, youth and people with disabilities, and allowing the president to appoint 11 members instead of eight previously. Hichilema, who will run for a second presidential term in the August 2026 election, said during a signing ceremony that the changes were being made in good faith and there was adequate consultation. He previously argued that some constituencies were too big for effective service delivery and should be split into smaller ones. Anambra State Police Command today 22/2/2023 receive the newly Deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police *AIG Eboka Friday psc, DSSRS* and three Commissioners of Police posted to Zone 13 headquarters, Ukpo and the Command respectively for election duty in the Zone and State.


The Assistant Inspector-General of Police *AIG Eboka Friday psc, DSSRS* before his posting as the election supervisor of zone 13, comprising of Anambra and Enugu Command, was the AIG in charge of Zone 16. He shall supervise the three Commissioners of Police deployed to the three senatorial districts of the state including the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command *CP Echeng Echeng* for the 2023 General Elections.
