No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

MAN ARRESTED TODAY FOR KILLING A CATHOLIC BISHOP IN LOS ANGELES. (PHOTOS).

A man wanted in connection with the weekend murder of a longtime Los Angeles bishop was arrested early today Monday.

The suspect wanted in the shooting death of Auxiliary Bishop David O'Connell was taken into custody during an operation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Enforcement Bureau, the sources said. The man was identified by detectives early in the investigation through an unnamed technical means, according to the sources, and was located and detained without incident.

The man's name was not immediately released.

Industry sheriff's deputies were responding to a medical emergency call when they found O’Connell, who appeared to have been shot in the upper torso.

Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez released a statement Sunday after the LASD determined it was a homicide, saying the archdiocese and parishioners were "deeply disturbed and saddened" by the news.

O’Connell was born in County Cork, Ireland in 1953 and was named an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles by Pope Francis in 2015, according to the Los Angeles Archdiocese. He served as a priest and bishop in LA County for more than 45 years.

O’Connell was the chairman of the interdiocesan Southern California Immigration Task Force, as well as the chairman of the Subcommittee on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

“He was a peacemaker with a heart for the poor and the immigrant, and a passion for building a community where the sanctity and dignity of every human life was honored and protected,” Gomez said in a statement following O'Connell's death.

Another Catholic Bishop wrote:

" I received last night the devastating news that my dear friend, Bishop David O’Connell, has died.  Bishop Dave and I were ordained auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles seven years ago.  From the moment I met him, I was struck by his goodness, kindness, prayerfulness, and simplicity of heart.  Throughout the course of my years in the LA Archdiocese, Bishop Dave was a constant source of support, encouragement, and good humor.  He dedicated his priesthood to serving the poor.  I can honestly say that he was one of the most Christ-like men I’ve known.  May he rest in peace.".-BISHOP ROBERT BARRON
