 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Police Arrest 2 Suspected Thugs For Disrupting APC Rally In Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police command have arrested two suspected thugs involved in the disruption of campaign rallies in the State.

This was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The thugs, in their numbers, were reported to have stormed the venue of the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign rally in Eleme Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday, with intention to cause chaos, but luck ran out of two of them, who were apprehended by the police.

Iringe-Koko said the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discrete investigation.

The police also displayed arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects by security personnel deployed at the venue of the APC campaign rally.

DAILY POST reports that there have been pockets of violence and disruption of campaign rallies by opposition parties in Rivers State.

Some leaders of opposition parties had pointed accusing fingers at the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, alleging that he is trying to frustrate the campaigns of other political parties in the State.
