 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Police Arrest 2 Suspected Thugs For Disrupting APC Rally In Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police command have arrested two suspected thugs involved in the disruption of campaign rallies in the State.

This was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The thugs, in their numbers, were reported to have stormed the venue of the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign rally in Eleme Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday, with intention to cause chaos, but luck ran out of two of them, who were apprehended by the police.

Iringe-Koko said the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discrete investigation.

The police also displayed arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects by security personnel deployed at the venue of the APC campaign rally.

DAILY POST reports that there have been pockets of violence and disruption of campaign rallies by opposition parties in Rivers State.

Some leaders of opposition parties had pointed accusing fingers at the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, alleging that he is trying to frustrate the campaigns of other political parties in the State.
