 Medical charity group MSF sacks 18 staff over abuse of Sudanese refugees in Chad Dozens of Doctors Without Borders staff have been accused of sexually abusing Sudanese refugees in Chad, the organisation said Monday, adding that it dismissed 18 workers after investigations found "serious misconduct". The medical charity, which goes by its French acronym MSF, said it had launched a series of investigations into "serious allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse" put forward in late 2024 by Sudanese refugees hosted in eastern Chad. In an email confirming information first reported by the Associated Press, MSF said that "while some of the 59 allegations were corroborated by the review, others remained unverified as in some cases neither victims nor perpetrators could be identified", AFP reported. Troops neutralize seven bandits in Chikun LGA 


A combined team of troops of the Nigerian Army and Navy have neutralized seven bandits during clearance operations in the Kasso general area of Chikun LGA. 


Operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government revealed that the troops embarked on the operations, and made contact with bandits around Ungwan Rimi village in Kasso, near a river. The troops promptly engaged and subdued the bandits after an intense gun duel. 


Seven bandits were confirmed neutralized during the operation, with the high possibility of even more eliminated and injured across the river. 


The troops recovered five motorcycles, 153 rounds of ammunition, seven magazines and three mobile phones during the operations. 


Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai praised the troops for their doggedness and bravery. 


The Governor commends the leadership of Maj-Gen TA Lagbaja, GOC One Division, and Cdre ME Ejumabone, Commandant of Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology, in the successful operation.
