 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  ACTDA Begins Demolition of Illegal structures Obstructing road construction

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA)Mr Ossy Onuko has reiterated his resolve and commitment towards transforming Awka Capital Territory to a Mega City.


The ACTDA boss gave the assurance at the  Unizik temporary Site road Awka, during the demolition of illegal structures standing in the way of achieving a standard road befitting a State Capital.


Mr Onuko said this has become necessary because the buildings are delaying the pace of  developing the road.


In his speech, the Chief of Staff to the State Government,Mr Ernest Ezeajughi appreciated the efforts of ACTDA in ensuring the smooth Construction of the  dual carriage road and  also noted that the construction of the dual carriage road will open up the city, adding that at the completion of the road project, residents within Awka Capital Territory and  Anambra people in general will appreciate the State Government.


In  a reaction, Miss Chinwendu Orji, a petty trader at Unizik junction said it is a welcome development, adding that they have been served several vacation notices by the Authority(MOI).
