 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Alex Otti bows to pressure, postpone prayer rally where Gowon was billed to attend.

The Governor elect of Abia State Dr Alex Otti and his team has bowed to pressure and postponeded the prayer rally where a former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon was billed to attend.

A Statement endorsed by a member of the Otti’s team and coordinator of the Abia State chapter of the Nigeria prays Apostle Chuks Alozie, the team said it was due to the unforseen circumstances and challenges.

It will be recalled that the prayer event had come under severe opposition by majority of Abians and Southern easterners over the choice of General Yakubu Gowon as the leader of the prayer rally to herald Alex Otti’s Inauguration as the Governor of Abia State come May 29th 2023.

Below is the Statement.

Following unforseen circumstances and challenges the Nigeria Prays South East Zone National Prayer Rally have been postponed till further notice.

We regret the inconveniences this might have caused to those who have prepared to come out to join in the prayers and guests invited.

The Leadership of Nigeria Prays wish to assure Nigerians that we would continue to pray and strive for the peace and unity of Nigeria, especially Abia State.
