 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THUG AND THUGGERY IN POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS 



Sequel to the directives of the Commissioner of Police to the Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical teams to raid criminal hideouts and ensure maximum security and serenity of the Easter celebration.


On 08/04/2023 at about 0930hrs, operatives attached to C’ Divisional Police Headquarters Bauchi in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit acted on a credible intelligence raided a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building situated at Magaji Quarters Bauchi. 


The operation yielded a very high rate of success leading to the arrest of the following suspects;


1. Rayyanu Mohammed 'm' aged 25yrs 

2. Mustapha Harisu 'm' aged 19yrs 

3. Yusuf Ibrahim 'm' aged 18yrs 

4. Mubarak Lawal 'm' aged 18yrs 

5. Abubakar Musa 'm' aged 18yrs S

6. Al-Amin Hussaini 'm' aged 20yrs  

7. Hamza Umar 'm' aged 17yrs all of Magaji quarters Bauchi. 


Consequently, the following assorted arms and some alcoholic beverages were retrieved from their possession during the raids which include: -


1. Two axes 

2. Three knives,

3. Ten empty bottles of cough syrup, 

4. Two empty rubber solution 

5. One wrap of cannabis sativa.


Investigations revealed that the suspects arrested belong to a notorious thuggery group called “SARA SUKA” known for terrorizing the city of Bauchi metro lately.


The Commissioner of Police CP Aminu Alhassan psc(+) therefore urges parents and guardians to get acquainted with the activities of their children, as the investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
