 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Court Restrains ABSIEC From Conducting LGA Elections in Abia

The Abia State Local Government election which is billed to hold on the 19th of May 2023, has suffered a setback as an order restraining Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) from organizing the said election has been granted.


Based on facts available to Ikoronews Honorable Justice Benson C. Anya of the Abia State High Court Arochukwu Division granted the order in a suit filed by Engr. Nwabueze Onwuneme (Suit No: HAR /8/2023) with Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa, Attorney General of Abia State, and Governor of Abia State as defendants.


The order which was granted on the 23rd of March 2023, restrained ABSIEC from organizing or conducting any election and restrained ABSIEC from acting on any election timetable or programme pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.


The suit was then adjourned to the 23rd of April 2023 for the motion on notice.
